  1. Wow! Accomplishments! What a great day.

My friend, niece, children, and I transplanted the Japanese maple tree into a much more auspicious location, filled my bamboo trough with the sod we'd removed, pulled out two little bushes which the developers had planted and which were totally inappropriate for our climate, covered two big areas with landscape cloth to stop all growth underneath. One area will eventually be an herb garden with no grass! and the other area will be a dry creek bed kind of an area. Went shopping and bought bark to be spread, and edgers for around the Japanese Maple, and one cute little ground cover plant. Also, got a brain storm to put chains on the front of the house, instead of the ugly white downspouts the developer put there. Woo hoo.....garden progress is being made.

    Keep reading, girl friend!
