Second Verse, Same as the First

Still no movement on the scale. Since I'm not liking the side effects of the Celexa - no weight loss, constipation, some other stuff even more personal I won't go into, little help with the depression - I'm going to wean myself off it and see if it helps. Also, I have a goal of doing 10 minutes of exercise for 30 days in a row and I started that today. Other than that, there isn't a whole lot more I can do other than what I am doing. I averaged 2209 calories a day for the month. Just 9 calories over my allowed range. And 87% of my days were under 2500 calories.

On another note, there is a local drive in that has fried chicken that we have always loved. Since they were closing for the season (they are closed from October through March), we decided to get one last fix of fried chicken. Afterward, I wondered why I bothered. I think I've lost the taste for it. This is a good thing because the meal always puts me over my calories for the day. And... well... it's FRIED.

  1. So, you're making enormous progress in that unhealthy food is starting to lose its appeal. And plateaus are completely normal. I also think there's a lot to be said just for eating reasonably and not gaining weight. You're on the right track in so many ways, and the weight will eventually start coming off again.

  2. I tried doing a calorie count a while back and was shocked that I was well over 2000 per day. It shocks me how different bodies can react to the same range of calories!

Keep up the efforts, and I hope you have luck weaning off the Celexa.

  3. Wow, you're doing great! You're so close to the 400s!

I have also gone through seeing standstills on the scale. It may be your medication, or a number of things. If you're calories are correct, maybe it's just another plateau that will break eventually. Sometimes I go through periods like that where I lose, don't lose, lose, etc. like every other month.

Anyway, just wanted to say how amazing I think you are, and good luck with everything! :)

  4. Rachel, it all depends on your body composition and activity level. I weigh in on a metabolic scale at the doctor's office which determines how much of my weight is fat versus muscle. According the calculations, I need 3000 calories a day to maintain my weight. Which means I need to drop that by 1000 calories a day to lose two pounds a week.
