Coming Along

Out of the last sixteen days, fourteen have been under 2500 calories. I'm down to 555. I wish it were a bit faster, but I'll take what I can get. I've added daily exercise. Every hour I do chair dancing to one song on iTunes. I'll increase the amount as time goes on.

My husband really laid the law down last night and I have to put my nose to the grind stone and get this weight off so he doesn't have to be my caretaker anymore. Being told that he doesn't feel like a husband any more but rather a nurse and errand boy is certainly motivating to say the least. If I am going to save this marriage, I need to work very hard to get back in shape.

  1. Congratulations on your progress! I hope you manage to lose weight quickly enough to save your marriage. Do you have a sense of what numbers you have to reach to gain various levels of self-sufficiency?

  3. Good job. I'm recovering from a 2 week binge-fest and I've realized that my IBS is exacerbated by eating crap. Did you know that last night was World Book Night? I went to pass out free copies of The Stand and The Things They Carried and it was surprisingly hard to give them away. I think people thought maybe we were passing out bibles? Anyway, you continue to inspire me, thank you for posting.

  4. Ouch...that had to sting. It hurts to hear things like this from our loved ones. Caretaking is never easy. I've done my fair share of it and the stress of it is overwhelming. Still, you are both in it for "better or for worse" and considering that you both have stuck with each this long, I have no doubt that you love each other dearly. As you jump back into focusing on your weight loss, I would highly recommend that he join a support group for caregivers to help with the feelings that he is having. I also would recommend finding support outside of the marriage to help you with your needs. Perhaps a friend can assist you at the pool or with other needs.

  5. You can do it!! Just stay strong and keep your thoughts on all of the positive things there are in life. It sounds like you are doing a great job, even though its a slow process. Your husband obviously loves you so I wish you the best of luck in showing him you love yourself.

  7. You should write a blog post everyday to keep your focus razor sharp. Examine the why, how your life will be different and the choices you are making each day to support your goals. Include pictures, particuarly of any triumph. Show us pictures of the pool you go to! Include non-weight related posts as well or articles you saw on-line, etc. Or things that pissed you off. Anything and Everything.

Msking a committment to show up and blog can refresh your resolve and motivation each day.

The biggest benefit of exercise for me, is as a mood lifter. The more I do the bigger my smile. :-)

    You go Girl!
